About Fire Up for Men's Health
This September, we’re asking you to Fire Up for Men’s Health by hosting a BBQ with your loved ones and raise vital funds for men’s health research through The Hospital Research Foundation Group.
What is Fire Up?
With challenges around mental health and preventable life-impacting diseases, it is time we came together to address the chronic health conditions affecting Western Australia’s men and boys.
Fire Up for Men's Health is your way to fundraise for men's health by simply hosting a BBQ with mates, your family, work colleagues, or sports club anytime throughout September.
Hosting your FireUp event is easy and by fundraising you’ll help progress life-changing men's health research through The Hospital Research Foundation Group – fighting for better diagnosis, improved treatments, and ultimately finding cures for some of the most heartbreaking diseases affecting the men in our lives.
Why we need your help
There are a variety of healthcare and research gaps that need our support, from helping GPs to better support men's wellbeing, to cardio-metabolic disease, male specific cancers, mental health and attitudes that better support help seeking behaviour.
Men in Western Australia face unique health challenges. We need to progress research and improve awareness to address these critical issues. Poor health affects your work, your family, your mates and your lifestyle. We are Fired Up about men valuing their health and we want you to be with us in the fight.
Fire Up For Men’s Health is your way to fundraise for this life-changing research.
Funds raised through Fire Up for Men's Health will help support a range of initiatives, including:
- Research Projects: Funding research into men's health issues, such as prostate cancer, heart disease, and mental health challenges.
- Awareness Campaigns: Raising awareness about men's health issues and promoting healthy behaviours.
- Support Services: Providing support services for men with health conditions and their families.
Meet Harry Fisher: Fire Up ambassador and YouTube sensation
Harry Fisher is passionate about supporting West Aussie families.
If you're not familiar with Harry yet, you will be soon! Harry's YouTube channel, Fire to Fork, has amassed millions of views and tens of thousands of followers across the globe. As a result, Harry is the most popular authority on bush cooking, not just in Australia, but everywhere good food and campfires are combined.
From the pindan red beaches of the Kimberley’s west coast to the karri forests of southern Western Australia, Harry has cemented his reputation with a pair of tongs around the campfire.
Harry’s campfire cooking and distinct approach to recipe creation are encapsulated by his personal brand - Fire to Fork. His meals are simple enough for any enthusiastic bush cook to prepare, but his focus on fewer but higher quality ingredients, and techniques he’s learned from his mother, a chef, sets him apart in the camp cooking world.
When you register for Fire Up this September you join a passionate community of Aussies just like Harry, proud to be fighting for men's health.

“I want to be around for a lot longer, watch my children grow up, and watch their kids too. I also want to teach them good habits, and I know now that starts with my own attitudes and behaviours. I could have saved a whole lot of heartache by just being on top of things a bit better”
